On Friday, May 5, 2023  CCR will host a Thieves’ Market moderated by Dr. Alan Epstein, M.D. of the University of Pennsylvania. Cases are being solicited from all attendees of CCR. Submissions deadline will be announced soon.

Thieves' Market

Points to note:
  • Cases are to be presented as “stumpers” in the Thieves’ Market style.
  • Each presenter is provided up to 15 minutes including discussion. 
  • There will be an award for the top presentation selected by the audience.
  • You need to be a registered attendee of the Congress of Clinical Rheumatology to present a case.

Thieves’ Market Submission Guidelines
Cases should be submitted as a PowerPoint file and include:
  • Name
  • Mailing Address (including city, state and zip)
  • Daytime Phone Number
  • Evening Phone Number
  • E-mail Address
  • Brief paragraph describing the proposed presentation and title
  • Presentation in PowerPoint format
The following rules apply:
Submit a truly unique case with an extremely high educational value.
Presentations must be in PowerPoint© format and be 10 minutes in length, allowing 5 minutes for questions.
 
Although there is an emphasis on pictorial displays of interesting physical findings or imaging studies, each case should have a brief introduction and a summary at the end of the presentation. It should also include a limited number of relevant references at the end of the case. Cases that are excessively long or in formats other than PowerPoint© cannot be reviewed.
 
The deadline for submission of cases is March 5, 2023.
 
Fellows need to register to present a case. 
Importantly, a fellow can present the same case at both NYRIF and Thieves’ Market, however, the format would need to be changed.

CCR Poster Rounding Session

The faculty poster rounding session at the Congress of Clinical Rheumatology East event offers presenters the opportunity to receive detailed feedback on their research or clinical cases from engaged attendees. The interactive discussion and group setting allow for a deeper understanding of the material and promote networking and potential collaborations. Presenters can showcase their work to a broader audience, increasing the impact of their research or clinical cases. To submit a poster, individuals must be registered for the CCR event and follow the submission guidelines provided.

  • In-Depth Feedback: Poster rounding session provides an opportunity for presenters to receive in-depth feedback on their research or clinical cases from a group of interested and engaged attendees.
  • Interactive Discussion: The group setting of poster rounding sessions allows for interactive discussion between presenters and attendees, promoting a deeper understanding of the research or clinical cases presented.
  • Networking Opportunities: Presenting at a poster rounding session provides an opportunity for presenters to connect with other researchers or clinicians with similar interests or expertise, facilitating networking and potential collaborations.
  • Broad Exposure: Poster rounding session provides a chance for presenters to showcase their research or clinical cases to a wider audience of conference attendees who may not have attended a specific oral presentation, thereby increasing the exposure and impact of their work.
  • Increased Impact: Presenting at a poster rounding session can increase the impact of the presenter’s research or clinical cases, as attendees are engaged and interested in learning more about the material presented.

Traveling to Destin!

Traveling to Destin is easier than you may think! Direct flights are available from most major aiports. A few of these direct flights include Southwest (to Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport at Panama City [ECP] from Baltimore and Nashville. Other direct flights can be found on Delta from Atlanta, Silver Airlines from Orlando and Tampa, as well as on United from Houston.

The closest airport to the conference venue is Northwest Floridal Regional Airport Valpariso [VPS] at Fort Walton Beach. Direct flights are available on American from Dallas and Charlotte, on United from Houston, and on Delta from Atlanta.
